Stewardson Competition

The 115th John Stewardson Memorial Fellowship in Architecture was a pre-semester warm up exercise that we participated in prior to second semester 5th year. The brief prescribed a program and criteria for a school for women refugees of Syria. I turned the brief a little upside down, designing a prototype that would fit many crisis scenarios, whether it be refugees from flooding, war torn areas, famine, disease, etc. My target demographic widened to children as well. The emphasis was on creating safe spaces while not using many resources to create whole schools from individual classrooms.
