The Singh Center for Nanotechnology was an architectural tour offered while at Blackney Hayes. It was awesome to see what could be achieved when budget is not a limiting factor in design. Many aspects of the building were thoroughly vetted and designed, such as the curtain wall system etching and framing, the cantilevered wing (pictured), and the massive stretches of orange safety glass integrating the labs with the public spaces. While the spaces may be elegant and refined, there were still oversights on this project. This leads me to believe that while budget is a major factor in design, great architecture is not limited by money.
