San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane by Borromini was my favorite church I got to visit during my study abroad in Rome. This image is a pencil on illustration board composition of the main components of the church. I thoroughly enjoyed the intricacies and details of the geometry that didn’t distract from the beauty of the artwork and aura. The drawing consists of an ice cube diagram, a blow up detail of the window hidden behind an arch, the plan and section and underlying geometries, the worm’s eye view of the ceiling, and a figure-ground map showing it’s surroundings.
