Ridge Flats

Ridge Flats was the main project I worked on at Onion Flats. I developed schematic designs for the facade treatment directly with Tim McDonald – one on one, from sketches, or on my own. There were three systems: the inner courtyard facade screens, the Ridge Avenue facade screens, and the Kely Drive/Calumet Street facade system. The project goal being a modular sustainable project, efficiency in material use was of high importance. I worked directly with product reps to evaluate our design strategy for the extruded frames and screen facade types.

I developed schematic details for connection and clearances for all the types in AutoCAD as well as producing basic perspectives to support the body of work.

The project was tabled in 2014.
